Mysore:(DH) A senior IPS officer has lost his cell phone worth Rs 40,000 at Chamundi Hill here on Friday.

IGP (excise enforcement) Sunil Agarwal had gone to the Goddess Chamundeshwari temple in the evening. After visiting the temple, Agarwal sat on the stairs behind the temple, outside the temple complex. He however vacated the place leaving behind his phone. On realising that he had left the phone behind, he went back to the place, but in vain.

Inspector Mahadevappa who was accompanying Agarwal at that time, has lodged a complaint at K R Police station. Agarwal had served as the police commissioner of Mysore during the year 2009 and 2011.
