Sakala Services Act to be implemented at University of Mysuru

Mysuru: Three years after the the Karnataka Sakala Services Act was passed in 2011, the University of Mysuru has decided to implement the same, for the benefits of the students and other stake holders on Wednesday February 11.

The university is scheduled to provide these services in three branches including Administrative Branch (Education section), Examination Branch and Finance Branch.                                                                                                              

Ensuring service within a stipulated time line to all the beneficiaries including students, scholars and other academicians, the university has also thought of stiff fines for non performance under the Act. Reportedly the staff will be subjected to a fine of Rs 20 per application, if they are fail to provide information in the right time. The amount of fine may increase up to Rs 500 per day, if further delayed.

Speaking after inaugurating the Sakala section at the Crawford hall, the administration section of the University of Mysore, Vice Chancellor K S Rangappa said that after implementing the  Information Communication Department (ICD), and e-governance in the university, we planned to implement the Sakala to ensure essential information is rendered to the students on-time.

Meanwhile, speaking on Sakala services, the Registrar of University of Mysore, C Basavaraju said that the all staff will provide essential information that helps the students to continue their education without any delay. And the university will ensure all the norms are followed according to the Sakala Act 2011.
