Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should sack PWD and district minister HC Mahadevappa immediately. Without his support, his son Sunil Bose would not have involved in illegal sand mining, said former minister and BJP District unit chief M Shivanna. He also called upon the government to dismiss two sub-inspectors who were involved in the nexus with Sunil Bose.

“Sub Inspector Shivanna of T Narasipura Police station and S Raghavendra Gowda, Sub Inspector of Chamarajanagar Police Station were seen partying with Sunil Bose. The photo image exposed the nexus between police and Sunil Bose. He was seen enjoying shoulder ride with cigarette in hand. Surprisingly, Raghavendra was also promoted as inspector to the newly formed anti-corruption body called ‘Anti-Corruption Bureau’ for Mysuru. How can one expect justice from such people? Sunil Bose with the support from his father is involved in illegal mining from past many years. T Narasipur administration is in the hands of Sunil Bose and HC Mahadevappa who are involved in all sorts of illegal and corrupt practices. Among 25 different departments, they have almost direct control over 20 departments and hence keeping all this in mind, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should immediately sack Mahadevappa as the district minister,” said Shivanna.
“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made HC Mahadevappa as the district in-charge minister. They have spoiled T Narasipur taluk administration already. Now after Mahadevappa being inducted as the district in-charge minister, they are going to spoil the entire Mysuru district. Hence, before it happens, I request Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to drop Mahadevappa from the ministry. Going by all this, the Chief Minister might be hand in glove with Mahadevappa’s illegal activities. If Mahadevappa is not removed, we will stage state-wide protest,” he added.
‘District administrative officials and Deputy Commissioner C Shikha, a puppet in the hands of CM’
“District administration including Deputy Commissioner C Shikha and Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare, have totally failed in discharging their duties. Though there is lot of irregularities across the district, the officials failed to take any serious action. Though the DC has got powers to initiate action against those officials who are found involved in corrupt activities, she too failed to take any serious action. She has become a puppet in the hands of Chief Minister and other senior ministers,” alleged Shivanna. He also mentioned that even after three years of service, many senior officials in the district are still working in the same department including Deputy Commissioner C Shikha. “The government should immediately transfer those completed three years of term and appoint able and tough officers,” pointed Shivanna.
‘Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare inefficient’
“Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare has totally failed to discharge his duties honestly. He is giving trouble to innocent people, especially the poor people. He is unable to stop illegal sand laden trucks but is seizing bullock carts and harassing innocent people. It seems going by all this, police officials are also involved in promoting illegal sand mining. He also failed to take any action against two sub inspectors who were found to have a nexus with Sunil Bose, son of PWD and district minister HC Mahadevappa,” said Shivanna.
