Mysuru: Retired Vice Chancellor of Mysore University Prof. K S Rangappa has almost decided to join Janata Dal (Secular) and fight the next Assembly elections from Chamaraja constituency in Mysuru on JDS ticket.

There were many rumours about him jumping into the JDS bandwagon for quite some time now. He is a close relative to party Supremo H D Devegowda and is actively involved in the preparation of the veteran politicians autobiography. Presently Devegowda is resting in the farm house of Prof K S Rangappa, where final touches are being given to the autobiography before release. Party State President H D Kumaraswamy met Prof Rangappa and offered him the Chamaraja Assembly constituency ticket.

Reacting on the development, Prof. Rangappa said that the final decision on entering politics and contesting Assembly elections will be taken soon.

Harish Gowda’s political future hangs in balance?

In the event of Prof. Rangappa joining JDS, the political future of Mysuru district President Harish Gowda’s future will certainly hang in balance. However, Harish Gowda exuded confidence in party bosses of not letting him down after having served JDS for over a decade. Harish Gowda too is a strong contender for the Chamaraja Assembly seat from the city.
