Nanjangudu: Ever since senior leader S M Krishna quit Congress and joined the BJP, there have been rumours of actor-turned-politician Ramya too following his footsteps.

While Krishna, in clear terms had said that he was not aware of Ramya’s next political move, Ramya’s mother Ranjitha has cleared the air.

Looks like Ramya has taken a break from politics because she is completely away from Nanjangudu and Gundlupet by-polls scenes. Her absence is fueling talks of she leaving the Congress. However, as per Ranjitha, Ramya will continue to be a part of Congress.

She said that since Ramya is facing some health issues, she will remain away from campaigning. “Ramya is being targeted by some who cannot stand her growth in politics. They are making these statements that Ramya will be joining BJP or the JD(S). There is no truth in these statements,” said Ranjitha adding that once Ramya feels a little better, she will be back to work for the Congress party.
