Mysore: The District unit of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike staged a protest in front of the court building here on Friday July 18, Friday demanding stringent punishment to rapists.

The protest was led by K Madesh, District President of the Vedike, Venki, Patil, Raju and others.

GP members’ protest : The Gram Panchayat members of Chikkereyoor  of HD Kote taluk organised a protest in front of the DC office on Friday urging for suitable action against the election officer Jayaramaiah who they alleged resorted to favouritism during the elections to the post of  Gram Panchayat President. They said they were tendering resignation out of frustration and demanded justice by holding re-election.

GP members Sakamma. KM Jayashree, Kenchanayaka, P Jayalakshmi and others participated in the protest.
