Mysuru: All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi visited the Chamundeshwari temple, as the first part of his two-day visit, after arrival in Mysuru. The Chamundeshwari constituency is considered to be the stronghold of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Rahul arrived in a special flight at 9.15 am, and was accorded a warm welcome by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress State-in-Charge Venugopal, KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwar and other leaders.

Later, he along with CM Siddaramaiah and KPCC President Dr. Parameshwar drove down to the hill-top temple through Lalithmahal road and Tavarekatte road.

In the background of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the temple, SPG security was tightened in the area. Vehicle movement was banned from 5 am itself.

This is his fourth visit to the poll-bound state since February.

In two days, the AICC President will participate in several road shows and public events in Mysuru, Mandya, and Chamarajanagara.
