Mysuru: Three II PU students allegedly committed suicide after they failed in their examinations. In first incident, an 18 year old boy Manu jumped into a resovoir in Chamarajanagar District. The body of the boy is yet to be found. Manu, student of Government PU College in Venkataiahana Chatra Village failed in Mathematics. Depressed over his poor performance, Manu committed suicide by jumping into Chikkahole Dam, said Chamarajanagar Police. The incident happened at around 2.30pm. A few fishermen in the region saw Manu jumping into dam. Though they tried to rescue him, they failed, said police. Police with the help of fire personnel continued to search for the body.
In the second incident, depressed over his performance in the II PU, another student allegedly committed suicide in city on Wednesday. Sadhan, 17, flunked his II PUC examination and depressed over his performance committed suicide, said police. The incident happened at Naganahalli, near Binny Mill in city, n Wednesday morning, said the police. Mysuru Railway Police claimed that they could not identify the train which took away Sadhan’s life. Members of the public, noticed the body lying on the track and informed the police. Police shifted the body to Mysuru Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) for autopsy.
In another incident, a 17 year old girl Shruthi, student of Government PU College killed herself by hanging, at her resident at V P Bore in Hunsur. Shruthi, daughter of a daily wage worker, Subramanya, was all alone at her home when she came to know about her results. Depressed over her results, she took extreme steps, said Hunsur Police. Shruthi failed in two subjects, said the police. After autopsy police handed over the body to family members.
In all the incidents, police have registered cases of unnatural death.
