Hassan : Members of the general public who participated in a meeting convened by the TMC here on December 7, Saturday to discuss the proposals to be included in the 2014-15 TMC budget, expressed their resentment over the long pending civic problems.
Srividya, TMC President presided over the meeting held at the Ambedkar Bhavan. No sooner the TMC chief sought suggestions from the public, she was poured with grievances. Many complained about the menace of stray cows on the roads, the dumping of wastes in the area behind the TMC, the lack of cleanliness in most wards and such other problem. Some urged the TMC to take the encroachment of public land in various places seriously.
The public also expressed their anguish saying the TMC only convened meetings but did nothing to solve problems.
TMC Commissioner Krishnamurthi who spoke on the occasion said steps have been taken to clear the wastes dumped in the area behind the TMC and assured best possible efforts to maintain cleanliness.
TMC Vice President Irshad Pasha, Councillors HB Gopal, Sharadamma, Nirmala Yogish and others were present.
Social worker Amjad Khan, BN Ramaswamy, Vice President of the Udayagiri Layout Residents Welfare Association, HM Shivanna, freedom fighter and others participated in the meeting.
