Mysuru: The Mysuru City Police Department organized a public grievances meet in the city, to discuss and highlight various issues concerning the residents.The meet which was held between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm on Sunday morning, in the respective Police Stations.
A large numbers of residents took part in the meet from their respective localities and brought forth the problems and issues. At the meet, the Police Inspectors urged the owners of houses and paying guests to furnish the details of the tenants. They also asked the residents to complain about any suspicious persons loitering around their locality.
In a meeting held at Saraswathipuram Police Station, Inspector K.C. Poovaiah participated and heard the problems faced by the residents.
Some of the residents of Janata Nagar complained that it was difficult for women and kids to walk at certain places due to the presence of liquor stores and drunkards. Residents also complained that they had noticed illegal activities at the Jain Hostel grounds and at Gangotri Layout Park.
Addressing the residents’ concerns, Poovaiah asked them to note down the vehicle number or take a picture of the same and alert the police, who, he said would take action immediately. The police were also asked to give an account of the issues resolved during the next meet.
Meanwhile, at Laxmipuram Police Inspector P.M Siddaraju received complaints about illegal activities around Subbarayana Lake. The residents also urged the police to ask the concerned authorities to remove trees that pose threat to the public during rainy season.
