Mysuru: “This year’s Dasara will be inaugurated by progressive farmer Puttaiah on October 13, at Chamundi Hills”, informed district in-charge minister V Shrinivas Prasad, adding that Ayudha Pooja and Vijayadashami will be held on October 22.
Speaking at a press meet held in DC’s office, the minister said that Puttaiah, a farmer from Malara colony village in H D Kote taluk, along with CM Siddaramaiah and other dignitaries will inaugurate Dasara with ‘Pushparchane’, a ritual that has to be done to mark the inauguration of the same.
Ayudha Pooja and Vijayadashami will be held on October 22 and CM Siddaramaiah will perform Nandi pooja at 1.10pm to 1.25 Makara lagna. Later, the CM will perform the Pushparchane from 3.12 pm to 4.10 pm on the golden chariot carrying Chamundeshwari.
Then the procession of Vijayadashami will be carried out. On the same day, Nadahabba celebrations will be concluded, the minister said.
