Mysuru: “Dr B R Ambedkar was not restricted to any one community,” recollected Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa at Kaveri Auditorium, KSOU Mysuru.
Speaking during the special conference on the life of B R Ambedkar organised by the Dr B R Ambedkar Studies and Research Centre he opined that Ambedkar was alleged that he did not take part during the Indian Independence against the British but Ambedkar was against the British and worked for the Indian Independence extensively, which was not thoroughly recorded, he said.

Dr B R Ambedkar worked for the betterment of OBC, women empowerment, farmers and SC/ST but the present situation is different. He and his values are restricted to one community — this perception needs a change, he added expressing his views.
He quoted that the examples of various people who has faced untouchable problem such as former President Zail Singh, Singer K J Yesudas and Rahul Gandhi, etc in 20th and 21th century.
Dr B R Ambedkar stood up against the social, economical and political dictatorship and opposed many social evils like untouchable system, he noted.
Speaking on the privatization, he said India and Indian government has been controlled by 53 bureaucrats, even today we live in bureaucracy, which is unfortunate. Ambedkar was against privatization in 1943 itself, he said.
Prof M G Krishnan VC KSOU presided during the function, Prof P S Naik Registrar KSOU, Prof Mahadevi – Director, Dr B R Ambedkar Studies and Research Centre KSOU were present for the conference.
