Mysuru: On day one of the Supreme Court verdict ordering Karnataka Government to release 12,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu till September 20, pro-Kannada activists thronged Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel where Tamil film Shivalinga, a remake of Kannada film Shivalinga was alleged to have taking place here on Tuesday.
Tense situation prevailed as pro-Kannada activist barged into Lalitha Mahala Palace Hostel alleging that a Tamil film shooting was being held. Timely intervention of police helped in bringing the situation under control. The protesters were arrested and later released.
The director of the film P Vasu said that the shooting for the movie was suspended yesterday itself due to prevailing tense situation. The rest of the shooting would be held in November. There was tense situation at Srirangapatna where the agitators torched a lorry. People gathered in large number and staging protest. The Mysuru-Bengaluru road has come to grinding halt.
