Mandya : A prisoner escaped from the Mandya jail recently.

The prisoner who escaped from the Mandya jail has been identified as Parashivamoorthy, a resident of Palahalli in Shrirangapattana taluk. He was working as transport driver and was imprisoned on the charges of dowry harrassment in November 2013.

The prison officers had seen changes in his behaviour. So they assigned the job of selling vegetables and work in the premises of prison.

The deputy superindent and other officers were at work when he escaped from the prison.

Police have registered case in this regard and further action will be taken.
