Mysore : The Prajashakti Andolana Vedike staged a protest in front of the DC office on March 17, Monday demanding disciplinary action against the Deputy Director of Public Instructions who is facing charges of violating government orders.

The protestors alleged that the Deputy Director had failed to heed to the government orders to initiate action against the Jnana Ganga VidyaPeetha at Kuvempu Nagar which was collecting additional fee from students on the pretext of teachers benefit fund, unauthorisedly.
They also alleged that the institute had collected an additional Rs 80 lakhs annually on the pretext of Student Welfare Fund and Teachers Welfare Fund and that it failed to maintain any record like attendance register for the teachers and staff.
Dyavappa Naika, State President of the Vedike, S Sridhar Betta, Vice President, Prabhaker Hunasur, General Secretary and others took part in the protest.
