Mysuru: A student of pharmacy committed suicide by hanging here in city on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Swathi, 22 years, a native of Kodlagi, Bellary district who was pursuing her final year B. Pharma at the JSS College for pharmacy.
Swathi was staying in the college hostel. It is reported that the student committed suicide early morning around 4.30 am in her room. It is learnt that she was alone in her room. The issue came to light when her hostel mates called her for breakfast. As nobody responded from inside the room, the students panicked and informed the warden. The door was then broken to gain entry. Swathi was found hanging.
It is also reported that Swathi had written a death note in which she had mentioned that she was not happy with her friends and the hostel.
N R Police have registered a case and are investigating.
