Mysore :The equality of people in our country is the hallmark of an effective democratic system of governance, which  was made possible in our country through the efforts of Dr B R Ambedkar, said Mysore District incharge minister Shrinivas prasad.

He was speaking at the 123rd  birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar and the Prathibha puraskar programme organised by City corporation sC/ST workers’s association. 

He said that Representatives are elected by the people from panchayat to parliament to rule the people, but weaker sections of the society are always suppressed. But B R Ambedkar had worked for the upliftment of lower castes by giving them  reservation. He fought to ensure equality and freedom for all. Yet his desire is not fulfilled.  Talented students of scheduled caste were honoured on the occasion.
