Mysuru: The department of Public Instruction has implemented several projects like Ksheera Bhagya, Mid-day meal scheme etc to attract students. However, even after implementing these schemes, the strength of students is decreasing in the government schools every year. The department is responsible for this.

Taluk department of public instruction has issued notice to schools which are in bad condition to build new buildings with concerned department.

M Palya government primary school in Mysuru is in a bad condition. Six months back a part of the school building was demolished after notice was received. But the other classrooms attached to the demolished wall have been used for taking classes. Children study under the same roof which can fall anytime.

Even the Dodda Belalu gram panchayat open drainage in front of the school has caused health problems to the students as well as teachers. The  building in which the mid-day meal prepared is closeby. The flies and mosquitoes breed on this open sewage drain and might cause malaria and other diseases.

Teachers are helpless and the people’s representatives are silent on this issue. Children suffer due to bad functioning of the department as well as concerned persons.

So the issue must be resolved soon.
