Mysuru: NR Police, who are investigating the case of a nine-year-old girl being raped in Hanumanthanagar arrested two juvenile boys, out which only one accused is been involved in the crime, clarified the police on Saturday November 8.
Reportedly it is learnt that when cornered by the angry public at Hanumanthanagar in the City on Thursday, the 16-year-old teenager sought to drag his 15-year-old friend also, leading to the crowd thrashing the duo with lathis and blows.
But, according to the statement of the victim before the doctors and Child Welfare Committee (CWC) members, the crime was committed only by the elder teenager, who is 16 years and seven months old, said a police official.
Both the teenagers, who had been badly beaten by the crowd, were undergoing treatment at K.R. Hospital. “They had wounds all over the body and swelling on the face and head”, said an official from NR Police.
“We will have to identify the persons involved in the assault, lest something serious happens to the innocent boy”, the police official added.
Meanwhile, the police have registered an FIR against the rape of the girl and would be producing the accused boy before the judge of the juvenile court. The innocent boy will be released after his medical treatment, police added.
