Mysuru: Felicitation of retired police personnel and an impressive parade marked the Police Flag Day that was observed at the City Armed Reserve (CAR) grounds here on Thursday.
“One honest police officer is enough to bring changes in society,” said retired Deputy General of Police S Mariswami after he flagged of the parade and felicitated the five retired police officers.

“Decades ago, the public trusted the police department and their work and people would listen to a police man. But now the scenario has been changed, now people raise their voice against the decision of the police,” he added.
He went on to say, “Today we can’t see trust or honesty in the police, because of that people have lost faith in the police. We can still create confidence among the public if we are honest in our duty.”
Mariswami went on to say that the Police Flag had its own sign and standard. “We have to be ready to sacrifice our life for our duty. Honesty helps you to reach higher positions. We should not bow in front of our superior officer. Transparency in our duty increases trust in the police force and be of service to the people. We should not loose our moral values and ethics while doing our duty”, he said.
Inspector-General of Police Ajay Kumar Singh, City Police Commissioner Dr. MA Saleem, Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare, DCP Crime and Traffic Mahadevaiah and others were present at the event.
