NSUI demands ex-minister Ramadas’ arrest for prior knowledge of Demonetisation

Mysuru: National Students Union of India (NSUI), Mysuru wing filed a complaint and demanded arrest of former BJP minister Ramadas for his statement on November 9, in which he allegedly expressed prior awareness on the introduction of new currency by scrapping old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations.
Former BJP minister S A Ramadas had stated on November 9 that he was aware of scrapping of old currency by the central government four months before its implementation on November 8. He had also displayed the information about the new currency in a sheet of paper titled “Here is what the new Rs 500 currency looks like”.

NSUI, in its complaint to the city police commissioner has sought a probe to trace the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) official who had “leaked the vital information” to Ramadas and demanded former minister’s arrest.
