Mysuru: All 150 medical seats at Mysuru Medical College Research and Institute (MMC RI) are recognized by Medical Council of India.
Addressing a gathering, MMCRI Director Dr Krishnamurthy said that since 2010, they have been taking 150 seats, out of which 100 were recognised by the MCI while another additional 50 seats were permitted for five years.
“When we approached government of India for the same, they have officially recognized 50 seats which were earlier tentatively recognized. With this permission, in days to come we can also request government and the MCI for more number of seats,” he said.
The Director said that the institute was trying to get permission for PG and Diploma course in Psychiatry over the last three years. A month ago, the Ministry of Health, Government of India has called the institute for an interview.
“We have requested for two seats each in PG and Diploma,” said Dr Krishnamurthy.
