Mysuru: The police have served a notice to Marigowda, a close aide of Chief Minister Siddramaiah to appear for investigation in the Deputy Commissioner Shikha verbal abuse and threat case.
The notice was handed over/pasted on the door at his Ramakrishnanagar residence in the city as he was not available at the time of serving the notice.
Marigowda’s interim bail application will not come for hearing in the court as it is a government holiday on Thursday. In case if he gets bail, he is likely to appear in public. He is absconding after the incident, fearing arrest by the city police.
In addition to Marigowda, the DC has named of five of his followers in her complaint who were present at the time of the incident.
It may be recalled that, the DC was abused by Marigowda, a former ZP president when the CM was in city to attend an Ifthar party. Soon after the CM left the government guest house, Marigowda and his supporters verbally abused and threatened DC Shikha. She instead of following CM’s cavalcade, went to Nazarbad police station and lodged a complaint. The incident has drawn lot of public attention as Marigowda is considered a close confidant of CM Siddaramaiah.
