Mysuru: Breaking her silence over the complaint issue, Deputy Commissioner Shikha has said that she would neither compromise nor withdraw the case that she has filed against a former ZP president after the latter hurled abuses at the DC.

The DC Shikha said the room for compromise or withdrawal does not exist as the attack was pre-planned by a drunken mob led by Marigowda, the accused said to be a close associate of CM Siddaramaiah.

Reacting to reporters who questioned her about the plight of common people when the senior most official in a district can be subjected to abuse and threats in high security zone, she only said the guilty should be punished as per law. The transfer of officials is routine in government functioning and the administrative issue does not bother her, she clarified. Regarding the delay from the police end she said, she has spoken to the city police commissioner but has not received any feedback. She further said that she will interact with the Principal Secretary and collect the relevant information from the city police commissioner.

At the end she said, she was moved by the public support for her from various quarters including several organizations following the incident but requested all her well-wishers not to politicize the issue.

Now that the ball is back in the court of law enforcing agencies, people watching the developments closely have only one simple question, what next?
