Mysuru: In a shocking development, three candidates short listed for the Vice Chancellor post of Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) by search committee, have not completed even 10 years of service as Professor.

According to reliable sources, the search committee has short listed three candidates, Prof Ishwara Bhat, Prof SS Patil and Prof CS Patil. Among the three, Prof SS Patil who joined as Professor of Law to the Gulbarga University in the year 2009, has completed only seven and half years as a professor. Prof CS Patil had joined as Professor of law in the year 2013 and has worked as a Professor for only 3 years. Earlier to this, he was working as a selection grade lecturer in law in the University College of Law, Dharwad.

Though there are eligible candidates for the post, the search committee has recommended these three names. It’s clearly an injustice to those who are fit by merit and working for the law department from the past many years. Among the three shortlisted candidates, two belong to lingayat community and one to Brahmin.
