Mysuru: ‘Swachh Rail Bharat-Swachh Saptaah’, a special cleanliness drive across Mysuru division, South Western Railway will be observed from September 17 to 25.
As desired by Minister of Railways, a nine-day cleanliness campaign is being organized over Mysuru Division of South Western Railway. The focus during the campaign will be on cleaning of drinking water booths along with quality of water supplied, cleaning of drains, adequacy of dust bins, garbage disposal mechanism, cleaning campaigns in association with NGOs and other social groups and interaction with media on the steps taken for achieving lasting improvement. Senior Officers will be personally supervising the campaign across the Division.
Each day of the campaign will be dedicated to a particular theme for focused attention to bring about qualitative change. The topics include Clean Environment, Clean Stations, Clean Trains, Clean Water, Clean Complex, Cleanliness Participation, Cleanliness Dialogue, Clean Food and Dedication for Ensuring Cleanliness.
Atul Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, South Western Railway, Mysuru Division has urged the rail-users to extend their co-operation in maintaining a high level of sanitation in railway premises and on trains. He also stated that those indulging in littering and other acts which contribute to unhygienic environment will be penalized under the legal provisions of the Railways.
