Mysuru: It seems like nothing going in favour of Janata Dal (S) at NR constituency after former mayor Sandesh Swamy tendered his resignation to the party and joined Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of BJP National President Amit Shah recently. On April 2, N R constituency JD (S) Women’s Wing President P Ashwini and few other office bearers have tendered their resignation and are expected to join BJP.

Addressing media persons, Aswhini said, “Though Sandesh Swamy contributed immensely to the party and also to N R constituency, it’s not right on the part of former chief minister H D Kumarswamy to say that the former had done nothing for the party. Due to his reach to the people, he also became the mayor. If this is the respect given to the leader who has served the party for the past so many years, I think we too will not have much respect in the party. Hence to support our leader Sandesh Swamy, more than 15 members from women’s wing have tendered resignation and will follow him.”

The members have faxed their resignation letters to women’s wing’s current president Prema Shankar.
