Mysuru: To mark the world-famous Mysuru Dasara, a private darbar commenced at Mysuru Palace here on Monday September 26.
Beginning today, all the rituals that are part of Navaratri will be held for the next 10 days. Between 5.10 am and 5.30 am, the golden throne was offered traditional puja to set the ball in motion. Titular king Yaduveer Krishnadatta Wadiyar offered puja to the presiding deity.
This is Yaduveer Wadiyar’s eighth year private darbar. After the darbar, prasadam from Chamundeshwari Temple, Srikanteshwara Temple, Sri Ranganatha Temple (Srirangapattana), Uttanahalli Jwalamukhi Tripura Sundaridevi, Trineshwara Temple, Kodi Someshwara Temple, Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, Ganesha Temple, Krishna Temple and other temples will be offered to mark the end of the private darbar.

In view of the festival, visitors were banned from entering the Palace. Only people from the royal family took part in the rituals.
Yaduveer Wadiyar has conveyed Dasara greetings to the people of Karnataka. He said, “I pray to Goddess Chamundeshwari on behalf of the people of Karnataka for peace and prosperity.”
On October 4, the visitors are banned from entering the Palace between 10.00 am and 2.30 pm and on October 5, the entry is totally banned.
