Mysuru: Thousands of devotees witnessed annual car festival of Chamundeshwari annual at Chamundi Hills on Sunday October 9.
Goddess Chamundeshwari who was adorned in Simhavahini decoration, was offered pooja in the auspicious time of 7.10 am to 8.10 am by Royal descendants Pramoda Devi Wodeyar. The idol of Devi was installed inside chariot after Yaduveera Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar couple, MLA G. T. Deve Gowda, offered pooja. Yaduveera also started the chariot festival by pulling the rope of the chariot. The sound of firecrackers, the sound of musical instruments, the performance of art troupes added to the colour of the Rathotsava.
The Chariot of Chamundeshwari was moved in the midst of the devotees gathered on both sides of the Rathabidi. At this time, the devotees offered devotion by throwing fruits and banana on the chariot. The chariot which traveled for 50 minutes reached the entrance of Chamundeshwari Temple At this time, the devotees gathered there and touched the rope of the chariot with devotion. Some others bowed down to the chariot, while stopped to get the flowers that decorated the chariot.
The fans of Puneet Raj Kumar expressed happiness after seeing flag with Puneeth Rajkumar’s photo on the front of Chamundeshwari Devi Ratha which was used in the Rathotsava. Two years of rathotsava was held in a simple manner due to Covid. This time, like Nadahabba Dasara, the Rathotsava also took place in a grand manner. Since 5.00 am in the morning, the devotees had come to the hill on foot and in vehicles. Even though the chariot festival was over, the devotees kept coming to the temple. Due to this, there was a traffic jam. Also, the parking lot was also full and people struggled to park their vehicles.
