Mysuru: “I have filed a defamation case (Civil and Criminal) in the 2nd Additional District Court against IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri, who has accused me of usurping Government land, said JDS MLA Sa. Ra. Mahesh.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday September 11, MLA said that he appealed court to impose fine of Rs. 1 Crore to Sindhuri. He alleged that she embezzled Government money when she was the Deputy Commissioner in the District. Thousands of people in the District lost their family members due to her irresponsible behavior during Covid. To cover it up, she reduced Covid test numbers, he alleged. He said that although the rate of Covid positivity was high, she claimed the Administration controlled the death rate. After the Former Chief Secretary of State Government submitted a report to the Government, she was transferred. He urged Government to suspend the DC soon.

He alleged that she had illegally built a swimming pool in the Deputy Commissioner’s official residence. She was involved in buying cloth bags without getting approval from the local institutions. As I questioned all these, they accused me of land grabbing. The Regional Commissioner investigated the allegations and reported that Rohini’s allegations were baseless. He said that he will fight against the officer inside and outside the court.

She raised the issue of land illegality to cover up the weakness and corruption of the Covid situation. She have tried to tarnish me, who is in politics since last three decades, he added. He said he would leave politics but would still teach a lesson to Sindhuri.

Mahesh’s lawyer Arun Kumar said that “we had issued a legal notice on July 1, 2021. We asked if it was your voice in the audio that went viral on social media. Did you do it on purposefully ? She has admitted in the reply notice that it is her own voice and that she has spoken. It has also been said that it was spoken in private. He said in the audio clip Sindhuri said that Sa. Ra. Mahesh will go to jail and be behind bars.

“A Deputy Commissioner cannot discuss professional matters with private persons. Based on this, we have filed a lawsuit, he added. The court has issued a notice to Rohini to appear and answer on 20th next. Since she has accepted that it is her voice in the viral audio, there is an opportunity to include the background and motive in the case,” he said.
