Mysuru: GT Devegowda declares he will remain in JDS

Mysuru: JD(S) Supremo H. D. Deve Gowda has succeeded in persuading Chamundeshwari Constituency MLA G. T. Deve Gowda to remain in party, who had kept distance from the party for three years.

Deve Gowda came to GTD’s residence in V. V. Mohalla here on Thursday October 20 had dinner forgetting earlier rift. The meeting of these leaders after three years also witnessed emotional moments. GTD ended many days of speculation by announcing that “I will not leave JDS, I will stay here.”

He said H. D. Deve Gowda has love, and confidence on me. He used to call me Mari Deve Gowda. He had given many positions to me in the past. He said that even though he has been away for three years, his love for me has not diminished, he said and added Deve Gowda saved the regional party.

“We will make his dreams come true, he said and added that he will bring the party to power. He said H. D. D. Gowda tied me up with love. I will stay with JD (S). I am ready for any sacrifice. I will make H. D. Kumaraswamy Chief Minister again. There is no slander about them. He said that he has not tarnished or threatened the party even for a single day.

He said “Siddaramaiah called me to join the Congress; BJP also called. I apologise to them.” He said, “I am the son of a common farmer. Leaders like HD Deve Gowda have come to my house. What is luckier than this?”, he said.

“All the leaders and Swamijis had gone to the residence to see Deve Gowda because he was ill. But, now despite his illness, he has come to the home of a small person like me,” he added overcome by emotions.

H. D. Deve Gowda said, “I have observed everything carefully. GT Deve Gowda was with us before Sa Ra Mahesh came to party. But few leaders defeated GTD in Lok Sabha elections. A leader obstructed his growth thinking he would attack him. That person is not with us now,” he lashed out at Siddaramaiah indirectly. He said that in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections we all should work together. We have the strength to face the adversaries. It should be used efficiently,” he said.

According to sources, G. T. Deve Gowda will contest from Chamundeshwari Constituency and his son Harish Gowda will contest from Hunsur Assembly Constituency next from JDS ticket.
