Mysuru: There seems to be a reason for celebration in the Mysuru Palace as it is said that Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar is going to be a father soon. Trishika Kumari, wife of Yaduveer is expecting a baby.
The duo had got married about a year ago at the Kalyana Mantapa of Mysuru Palace.
After the sudden demise of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, Pramodha Devi Wadiyar adopted Yaduveer, son of Swarup Anand Gopalraj Urs and Tripurasundari Devi and an MBA graduate. Yaduveer who was in love with Trishika Kumari, who too is from royal family from Rajastan got married in June last year. Trishika is expected to give birth to baby in September or October. She is in Bengaluru as of now.
The news of Trishika’s pregnancy is truly a reason of joy for the Wadiyars as an age old legend has it that the Royal family that was once cursed by Alamelamma, wife of a local chieftain that the Wadiyar would not have children for eternity!
It is said that after her husband Tirumalaraja was ousted, Alamelamma runs to escape the soldiers of the Wadiyars and in a bid to escape being a prisoners, she jumps into river Cauvery. But, before plunging she leaves behind three curses- First, that the Wadiyars will not have children, second that Talakaadu would be buried under sand and let Malangi turn into unfathomable whirlpool’.
The locals say that each of the curse had apparently been proven true.
