Mysuru: Birsamunda, the leader of the tribals, has brought laurels to the tribals by fighting against the British even before independence, opined Odanadi Institute Director Stanley.

Speaking at the 147th birth anniversary celebrations of Birsamunda, organised by Deed in association with Talent Institute, at the Talent Education Institute in Hunsuru of the District, he said that tribals should know the life of Birsamunda, the life of struggle. The Forest Department has brought its own laws to the tribals who are living a difficult life without a forest or without a land and have thrown them out of the forests and made their lives miserable, he notes

Speaking on the occasion Talent Foundation Director Naveen Rai said, “The role of tribals in protecting nature is immense. Adivasis should be educated and should know about laws.”
