Mysuru : The car festival of Goddess Chamundeshwari, that takes place on the first full moon day after Vijayadashami drew thousands of devotees atop Chamundi hills and the presence of Yaduveer and Trishika- the Royal Scion couple along with Rajmatha Pramodha Devi added more glitter to the ceremony on October 15.
Yaduveer, who donned traditional Mysuru peta (turban) and a crimson coloured long coat left the palace premises with his wife Trishika in the morning at 5.30 am to take part in Rathotsava celebrations atop Chamundi hills.
The couple reached the temple at 6.14 am and took part in the traditional rituals. They circumambulated the temple premises and pulled the Rath.
Then they visited Rajendra Vilas place and offered Pooja to Nandi (gau) in the 400 year old Mahadeshwara temple. Later the royal couple visited few villages of erstwhile Wodeyar dynasty.
Speaking on the occasion, Royal couple wished for good rains, harvest and well being of all people in the state.
Thousands of people thronged the temple in the morning and fulfilled their religious vows. District in-charge minister H C Mahadevappa was among those present on the occasion.
Lady Constable collapses
Over stressed lady constable on security duty without breakfast escorting Trishika collapsed after she felt giddy. People around sprinkled water on her face and helped her regain consciousness.
