Mysuru: The row over properties belonging to the Mysore royal family cannot be resolved through talks and it is sub judice to comment on the issue as the case is pending before the Supreme Court, said Chief Minister Siddharamaiah here on Friday.
CM’s statement came a day after District Minister V. Sreenivasa Prasad, during his visit to Mysore Palace to witness the coronation of Yaduveer, had said that the government was open for talks on the issue.
The CM was speaking to reporters at Lalitha Mahal helipad in city on his way to his native Siddaramanahundi to cast his vote in the GP polls. When asked to comment on the statement of Sreenivasa Prasad, CM Siddharamaiah told reporters that it was for Prasad to clarify in which context he had made the statement.
It may be recalled that the royal family and the State government are locked in a legal battle over the latter’s move to acquire Bangalore and Mysore Palaces which has been questioned in several courts by the royal family claiming ownership of properties in and around Mysuru.
