Mysuru: Reacting to the Centre’s move to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI), Mysuru District In-charge Minister S. T. Somashekar on Wednesday September 28 said it is a welcome move.
Speaking to mediapersons, he said “The State Government had been asking the Centre to ban PFI in the past five years. Time was ripe for the Centre to ban the PFI. The raids have been conducted all over the country after collecting the details. I don’t know if PFI activists were planning to target Mysuru Dasara festivities, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishnaraja Constituency BJP MLA S. A. Ramadas said, “I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the steps. When the United Progressive Alliance Government was in power, anti-nationals were not arrested. They continued their work in the garb of PFI. During the raids at 270 places, a lot of incriminating documents have been seized. The ban on PFI is a good step in the right direction. Ramadass said, “Many people are at work to break the country. We all have to take up the ‘Bharat Jodo’ initiative.”
