Mysuru: The fire broke out for the second time in a row in Konanur and Chunchanahalli minor forest areas in Nanjanagudu Taluk.
The fire that broke out in Konanur and Hanumanpura Villages has completely gutted the scrub forest area and the deer, blackbuck animals, wild boar, peacock, rabbit, leopard, and other animals as well as birds living in the forest area have fled from the spot. Various species of trees, including Sandalwood and Eucalyptus trees, which were still in the forest area, were gutted in the fire and hundreds of acres of forest land were destroyed.
The farmers of Konanur Village rushed to the spot and tried to douse the fire but could not douse the fire. The villagers alleged that due to the negligence of the Forest Department officials, the fire was repeatedly emerging.
