Mysuru: In order to facilitate children of Mysuru district to take active part in dasara festivities the deputy commissioner has sought changes in dasara holiday schedule by writing a letter to the Department of Public Instruction Commissioner.
The directorate of public instruction has already notified the dasara holiday time table for the entire state, between October 9-27. However in the city of Mysore the festivities begin on October 1st and continue till October 11th. In between three days are exclusively reserved for children through a special program titled Chinnara dasara.( Children’s dasara ) where many cultural activities have been organised. If holidays are not given during that period children will not be able to participate in those programs which are going to be held between October 4th – 6th.
Keeping this in mind, the DC has written a letter to the department seeking changes in the dasara holiday schedule.
