Mysuru cops solve several robbery cases; recover Rs. 20.70 lakh

Mysuru: “Five robbers, two vehicle lifters have been arrested and the valuables worth Rs. 20.70 lakh have been recovered from them”, informed City Police Commissioner B. Dayanand during a press meet in the city on May 14.

He said that the arrests were made by City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, Kuvempunagar Police and Vijayanagar Police.

In the first case, the CCB arrested two house burglars and recovered 215 grams gold jewellery, 650 grams silver articles, a camera, a mobile phone and foreign currency, all worth Rs. 5.70 lakh from the accused. The arrested have been identified as Bhagavan, 22, auto driver and cleaner, a resident of Ashokapuram, Nanjangud and B.V. Ravi, 20, a resident of Harangi Road, Gummanakolli, Kushalnagar.

In the second case, Kuvempunagar Police arrested three burglars and recovered 361 grams gold jewellery worth Rs. 9 lakh. The accused have been identified as Pragna, 21, a native of M.S. Palya, Bengaluru, currently residing at Chennagiri Koppal, Mysuru, H.Pradeep, 27 and Srinivasa Prasad, 27, both residents of Yaraganahalli New Layout, Mysuru.

In the third case, Vijayanagar Police arrested a person involved in two-wheeler thefts and recovered 12 two-wheelers worth Rs. 6 lakh. The accused has been identified as Balaraju, 22, a native of Moduru village, Kasaba Hobli, Kunigal Taluk, Tumakuru, currently residing in Hebbal, Mysuru.

Moreover the Police have been successful in solving 12 two-wheeler thefts cases which involve 10 in Mysuru City and two in Bengaluru.

City Police Commissioner B. Dayanand lauded the Police team involved in detecting the cases. DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.M. Mahadevaiah was present at the press meet.
