Mysuru: The Mysuru City Police have tightened security in and around tourist places in city and surroundings since Sunday following the bomb blast on Church Street in Bengaluru.

Security has been stepped up at City Railway Station, Bus Stands, Chamundi Hill, Zoo, Palace, St. Philomena’s Church and other important places in city.
Bomb Detection Squad and Dog Squad have also been pressed into service. Check Posts have been erected on all roads leading to city and Police are scanning all vehicles as tourists are thronging in large numbers for New Year celebrations.
DCPs M.M. Mahadevaiah and A.N. Rajanna were seen going round the city and supervising security arrangements.
Security has also been beefed up at busy public places such as K.R. Circle, Makkaji Chowk, Irwin Road, Devaraj Urs Road and also at important Central Government establishments like CFTRI, Defense Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), Central Public Works Department (CPWD) offices, Postal Training College (PTC), Rare Materials Plant (RMP) etc.
Additional Police forces have also been deployed at heritage structures in city.
Meanwhile, Mandya SP Bhushan G. Borase has deployed extra Police security at KRS dam and also at tourist places in Srirangapatna.
Vehicles are being checked and people are being scanned at the dam entrance.
