Mysuru City Corporation focuses on clean city in its annual budget

Mysuru: Emphasizing more on cleanliness, the Mysuru City Corporation presented the annual budget with a total outlay of Rs 810 crores on Tuesday, March 29. The city remains the cleanest city for the second consecutive year.
Taxation and Finance Committee chairperson S Balu presented the budget at the presence of Mayor B L Bhairappa, corporation members and commissioner, focussing more on development of the city and cleanliness.

Budget highlights

25% of MCC income to be utilised for the well being of the Pourakarmikas

Expected tax collection for the year 2016-17 is Rs 19980 lakhs

Rs 400 lakhs for the construction of markets for street vendors

Construction of modern drinking water units in the city

Rs 100 lakhs for construction of toilets

Rs 300 lakhs for the development of circles

Rs 400 lakhs for installing solar units

Income thorugh pay and parking is expected upto Rs 100 lakhs

Rs 30 lakhs for development of libraries, Cataloging and inducting.
