Mysuru: A day after the low intensity blast at a toilet room in Mysuru District Court, lawyers staged protest on Tuesday in front of the district court demanding adequate security at the court premises. The proceedings at all the 24 courts came to a halt.
The members of Mysuru Bar Association, condemning the blast, staged protest in front of the court demanding adequate security from the government. The members demanded more security personnel along with screening facility at the entrance. They also requested the government to instruct the security personnel to screen each and every individual before they enter the court. The members also demanded for the installation of CCTV cameras. The protest was led by Chandra Mouli, President, Mysuru Bar Association.
First blast in court premise
Though there were many incidents of hoax bomb calls in court, Monday’s incident was the first incident in the history of Mysuru court when a real explosion took place.
Mysuru on high alert
The police department has tightened the security at public places, especially tourist places including KRS, Chamundi Hill, Mysuru Zoo and also Railway Station. Security has been deployed in both city and moffusil bus stand and market places.
NIT to visit blast spot
To examine the nature of the blast, National Investigation Team, who are the experts in the field are expected to visit the spot at 4pm on Tuesday, August 2.
