Lakshmana said, The strike call is in opposition to the District administration’s application of laws regarding auto cabs in the city.. There is a clear cut rule saying that the motor cabs shall operate within 25 kms of radius from the limits of City Corporation. But the motor cabs in the city have been violating the rule.

“Further he said that even though the issue has been raised with the officials of the district administration 5 times in a year the administration has turned blind eye to the continued violation.  They are aware of the foul play by the cabs but they are left like that without ban. DC Shikha in a recent meeting has said that she cannot ban cabs in the city. This is the tragedy with the district administration. To bring this to the notice of CM Siddharamaiah we have called for the bandh”, he added

Edwin Willson Wesley President, B T Raju Secretary and members of the Federation were present.
