Mysuru: Even as Belgaum Rural MLA Sanjay Patil has denied in clear terms his association with murdered Rakshitha Jain beyond phone calls and messages, undisclosed sources have revealed that not only did Patil make 1400 phone calls to Rakshitha from his personal phone over the last one year, but had also met her in luxury hotels many times during his frequent visits to Mysuru.

Further, it is also said that after Rakshitha came in contact with Patil, she purchased two sites.
Meanwhile, Rakshitha’s driver Sunil, who was nabbed by the police in connection to the murder, has been remanded to police custody for three more days.
Contradiction
While Sanjay Patil himself said that Rakshitha and her father Gunapal Jain had met him twice and that when Rakshitha went missing, her father had called him up, Gunapal Jain on the other hand has said that he does not know who Sanjay Patil is.
Background
Rakshitha, a married woman living in Mysuru went missing on March 11. After couple of days her dead body was found in charred state in secluded place. Within few days, the cops nabbed Sunil, her driver, who confessed to the crime and revealed that he had an affair with Rakshitha, but her growing closeness to an MLA from North Karnataka led him to kill her.
Rakshitha is said to have told Sunil that she was ready to leave him but not the MLA in question. This raged Sunil, who teamed with his father to kill Rakshitha.
