Mysuru: The University of Mysore In-charge Vice Chancellor Dayanand Mane is giving false information about Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) by informing the legislative panel on backward classes and minorities welfare that there are gross irregularities in KSET results, said B Basavalingu, Coordinator and Member-secretary of KSET Centre.

He denied that there is any irregularity in the KSET.

He made this statement after the panel met the top brass of the varsity and discussed the issues. The KSET Centre is attached to the University of Mysore which is assigned the job of holding the test annually by the UGC.

Basavaraju further said, “It is a pity that our own in-charge VC is giving false information about KSET to the committee that there are gross irregularities in KSET results.” He added that the VC chaired the Steering and Moderation Committee meeting which is constituted as per the guidelines of the UGC. The panel included two VCs, additional secretary of the UGC and senior most faculty members from Arts and Science stream drawn on all India basis.

“In the meeting, I had explained the reason for increase in the percentage of eligible candidates in KSET 2016. The results of KSET 2016 were well appreciated by the UGC additional secretary and other members of moderation committee,” he stated adding that the panel had also commended the excellent manner in which the KSET exam work was conducted.
