Mysore : A cricket tournament  for scribes  organised on the occasion of  Sports Day 2013 celebrations under the aegis of the District Journalists Association, was inaugurated by MLA Tanveer Saith on July 13, Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion,he said   a person engaged in any profession will have a sense of satisfaction when he functions by overcoming all   problems and challenges that comes his way. He also called upon the journalists not to forget ethics while discharging their duties.

He at the same time resented glorification of news pertaining to violence in the media and sought an end to such practices.

Dr MA Saleem, Police Commissioner, who was the chief guest, said such programmes will give scribes some chance to enjoy themselves amid their busy schedule.
Vijayaprakash, Mysore Zonal Convenor of Karnataka State Cricket Association, Corporation Commissioner PG Ramesh, District Journalists Association President CK Mahendra, General Secretary K Deepak and  several others were present. Various sports events will be held  on Saturday  and there will be events for the family members of scribes at Oval Grounds on Sunday.
