Mysuru: MP R Dhruvanarayan, Mysuru Kodagu MP Prathap Simha on Saturday took exception to the poor performance of Mahathma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in Mysuru district and directed to officials to complete the plans in time.

R Dhruvanarayan presided over the meeting of Central Government Vigilance and Monitoring Committee to review the Central government funds progress in the district at Zilla Panchayath Hall.
Addressing the officials he said that under MGNREGA 12419 works have been framed under the planning commission among 163 have been completed, and 1511 are in progress which accounts to not even 50% of the progress.
An official clarified that the district is showing a slow progress and from 21st place to they have jumped to 16th Place. However, declining this Dhruvanarayan said that I don’t want reasons but need progress at once in a three months and we have to fill in to 10th place at all the works. He also stressed the EO’s to take up basic facilities like graveyard development, park , play ground, toilet and cow sheds at faster rate. During the meeting it also noted that Mysuru Talak lagged behind in utilising the Central government plans. India has only 2% of the skilled labour and more focus must be given to Job fairs, he added.
Pradhan Manthri Kushal Yojana will soon take off to help the unemployed youth in the country. MP Prathap Simha said.
MP Dhruvanarayan questioned CHESCOM MD for his absence and ordered for explanation for the two death that occurred for electrocution. The officers were told to form awareness workshops for line mans.
He also expressed that they have plans to start up an education institution for children from tribal community, Kinder Garden to Post Graduation at Mysuru to promote education among the tribal folk. The project is modelled bases on Kalinga Institute of Social Science.
He also warned the nominated members of the committee for failing to attend the meeting which will be held once in a three months. He ordered the CEO to send notice to the absentees and to send a copy to the Principal Secretary.
