Mysuru: Disappointed that Mysuru has not been chosen as the location for the IIT in Karnataka, Chamaraja Nagar constituency MP Dhruvanarayan expressed anguish. “Even though Mysore was a feasible location in comparison to other locations in the state”, the union government failed to follow the parameters required to set up an IIT”, he said
The Union Ministry for Human Resource Development, compromised with political pressure brought on by the state political leaders like Ananth Kumar and Prahlad Joshi of Mumbai-Karnataka region, and recognized Dharwad for starting an IIT. They failed to follow guidelines for accreditation norms of IIT, despite the Mysuru have better facilities than the other two locations including Dharwad and Raichur, he lamented

Meanwhile, he said that the NDA government was targeting Congress ruled states and cutting funds of several welfare schemes such as national water policy NRWP, Integrated Child Development Scheme, Midday meal, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and many other welfare schemes to the detriment of the states people.
