Mysore : Tanveer Sait, MLA of NR Mohalla on Saturday June 28 inspected the ongoing construction works of a bridge across the Devanur  lake near Ganesh Nagara. The works have been taken up at a cost of Rs one crore.

The MLA informed that the bridge works when completed would prove a boon to residents of Siddartha Layout , Shanthinagar and Vidyanagar as the lake overflows during monsoon due to release of water from storm water drain.

He also said the works have been taken up using a portion of the Rs 5 crore MLA’s grants for the year 2010-11. The MLA said the project is undertaken after shifting the water supply pipeline. He said he intends to develop the lake spread over 12 acres as a tourist spot.

M Lokesh, ward unit president of Azeez Sait Nagar,  MN Mahadevu, Secretary of KPCC Backward Classes cell and others were present.
