Missing girls found dead; Family suspects sexual assault

Mysuru: Two minor girls who were missing since four days were found dead near Varuna canal on Friday. The family members of the girls alleged that girls were killed after being sexually assualted.
Pooja and Manasa, both 12-years-old, students of Infant Jesus Kannada medium school in Belavatha village are the victims. Four days ago, they went missing after school. Their parents hence filed a missing complaint at Metagalli police station on the same day.

The body of Pooja was found near Varuna canal on Thursday. On Friday, the body of Manasa was also found with marks of assualt on her face and body. Hence the family members have suspected sexual assault on the girls.

District police commissioner Abhinav Khare speaking to the media said that investigation is on in this regard, but  declined to give further details until they get the post mortem report.

Meanwhile, relatives of the minor girls alleged that even after filing a missing complaint at Metagalli police station, the police had not taken it seriously. So negligence by the police is the reason for thier death, they alleged.
